Our History
When I retired after 29 years leading the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), an organization I created to serve as a vehicle for a worldwide crusade against cruelty, I did not retire from the battle to help animals that suffer greatly in so many parts of the world. Through NETWORK for ANIMALS (NFA) and thousands of caring Britons who support its work, the crusade continues.
The core philosophy of NFA is an iron determination to never give in, no matter how long it may take to achieve a goal. For example, it took 19 years to end the Canadian slaughter of whitecoat baby seals - and sooner or later we will also end the atrocities depicted in this website.
You can end the suffering of an animal somewhere in the world today and in the future. A dog trembling with fear in a Philippines slaughterhouse ... a horse broken and bloodied in a most cruel sport ... a badger in the cross hairs of a rifle in a misguided cull ... a harp seal being skinned alive ... a fox torn to pieces in a renewed hunt ... an animal saved through our disaster relief program.
Will you reach out with caring hands to stop these abuses? An animal somewhere will be so grateful if you do.
Please contribute to this crusade today.
Kindest regards and thank you.
