We have told you before about the shocking sport-hunting industry in Spain - a ‘sport’ steeped in cruelty and indifference to suffering. It is an industry riddled with abhorrent practices and a complete disregard for animal welfare. Hunting areas are nothing more than chambers of horrors for animals like the Spanish greyhounds (galgos) and other dogs.

Used, abused, and then discarded like worthless objects, these creatures suffer unspeakable torture at the hands of those who value a thrill above a life. The cruel reality of this sport is a bloody spectacle that transforms Spain's landscapes into gruesome battlegrounds, where no mercy is shown, and the cost is measured in innocent lives lost. It is an industry desperately in need of reform, a realm where empathy and justice are overshadowed by the blinding bloodlust of the hunt.

32 hunting dogs have been confiscated from a breeding facility in Cordoba, Spain, after having been subject to unimaginable suffering. They really need your support right now.

The animals, used for the hunting industry, were found living in deplorable conditions, chained to grimy walls with short chains, barely able to lie down in the filth. They were severely underweight, malnourished and infested with parasites. They had been forced to live amidst their own excrement and the remains of wild boars, the only food provided to them. The smell from the site - a semi-abandoned farmhouse - was so unbearable that it will forever be imprinted in our minds. All had old scars and fresh wounds.

We are heartbroken at the condition of these beautiful animals but determined to bring them back from the brink of death to live the life they deserve. Several of the rescued dogs are in such shocking condition that they have been admitted to the Córdoba Veterinary Hospital for intensive care. All of them, without exception, will need extensive veterinary treatment to restore their health and eradicate the parasites that infest their frail bodies.
